Terms of use
FriendsSale is a free tool that helps you sell your own things to people you know. By using it, you agree to these terms.
What FriendsSale is (and isn’t)
We provide the pages, photo handling, bidding and emails. We are not a party to any sale: we don’t handle money, ship anything, inspect items, or guarantee that a buyer will pay or a seller will hand over an item. Pickup, payment and everything else about a sale is arranged directly between the seller and buyer.
Selling
- Only list things you own and have the right to sell.
- Describe items honestly. You’re responsible for your listings, including anything our AI suggested that you keep.
- Don’t list anything illegal, stolen, recalled or dangerous, including weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or vapes, prescription medicine, live animals, or counterfeit goods.
- Only upload photos you took or have permission to use, and don’t upload photos of other people without their OK.
Bidding
- A bid is a good-faith offer to buy the item at that price if you win. Only bid if you intend to follow through.
- The seller decides whether and how to complete a sale, and can close bidding, remove items or block bidders.
AI suggestions
Item names, descriptions, categories, groupings and price estimates suggested by AI are guesses to save you time. They can be wrong. Check them before you share your sale.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You let us store and show it as needed to run your sale (including in link previews), and to send it to the services listed in our privacy policy to provide features like AI suggestions.
Fair use
Don’t misuse the site: no spam, no scraping, no trying to get into sales or accounts that aren’t yours, and no attempts to break or overload it. We may limit, suspend or remove accounts or sales that break these rules.
No warranty; limits on liability
FriendsSale is provided “as is”, for free, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any sale between users, for items, payments or disputes, or for any indirect or consequential losses from using the site.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the changes are meaningful, we’ll update the date above and note it on the site.
